There are plenty of things to do in Bali; something for every age group and every budget. Let’s start from the easiest activities, the reason many guests come to visit this island: enjoying a beautiful hotel and relaxing at the pool or beach. Many also come for surfing and shopping. And then there is the partying and the clubs.
Kathy and I visited something that is not typical Balinese but it is entertaining nevertheless. 3D Museums do exist in other parts of the world and now we have one here in our own back yard. It was loads of fun.
River Rafting or White Water Rafting again is something you can do in many other places too. Try it here in Bali, in a mountain valley and rafting through a tropical lush, green landscape. Do not worry, the companies who offer this activity do understand safety.
Many of you come to Bali for surfing or playing tennis, here is what we experienced with my brother’s family and friends. Our hotel was located in Seminyak and the activities were easily accessible from there. If you are serious about surfing, this surf camp might be more to your liking.
If you are seeking out water sports in particular, you have to visit Benoa. They offer plenty of divers sports you can experience from the beach or a little way out in deeper waters. Prices are most probably still cheaper then in many other countries. We did some Fly Boarding there and even went on a Flying Fish.
Whatever sports you do, please make sure you are physically up to it. Be careful and logical, you do not want to end up hurting yourself because your ego or your sense of adventure gets the better of you.
Bali is the perfect destination for a relaxing and spiritual retreat. The Balinese people are very friendly, supple and graceful. Their culture and religious teaches them to pay attention to details and beautification. There are many rituals that involve nature to please and invigorate the body and the mind. Beauty treatments like massage using essential oils and other plant materials have evolved in the palaces over hundreds of years.
Today many architects and hospitality operators recognize this vast heritage and use a lot of local building styles and materials to create unique, tropical paradises with a Balinese touch. Spa treatments are lavish and the food of international standard.

Bali cheap hotels can be found anywhere on this island of the gods. Kathy and I stayed at 18 Suit Villa & Loft in Kuta and saw a quaint little bungalow hotel nearby.
