Flights to Indonesia are easier and more flexible since Garuda Indonesia is working together with other renowned international airlines. You a global traveler have now the opportunity to choose your own itinerary and stop over at your bucket list destinations and get the best ticket deals and maybe, as important, find open airport lounges and hotels where you wait for your flights in style and comfort. This is definitely something to discuss with your travel agent. Choosing a full service airline might give you many extra perks that are well worth your money and make your trip memorable.
You can also for example choose the fabled and long time favorite Singapore Airlines for a remarkable experience. You will have to change planes in Singapore to come to Indonesia though. Heck, why not stop over in a luxury accommodation for a day or two in the Lion city.
Or, choose one of the up and coming Middle Eastern airlines who aggressively advertise good deals. Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Doha in Qatar are well known and well equipped transit hubs where you might have to change planes and wait for a while; book a hotel for a night and enjoy a completely new destination. If you choose correctly you will be dined and pampered and enjoy the stop over.
Other possibilities are flying to a destination in Asia, maybe India, Thailand or Malaysia or from America to Hawaii, Japan, Korea and from there choose a low budget airlines to come to Bali or Lombok.
On the other hand today’s technology makes it easy for our fingers to do the walking and asking. There are so many booking engines out there and then there are resources that immediately give you the cheapest price for flights, hotels and other services; truly amazing. For short trips, that makes complete sense since you do not need too many amenities to keep you busy. For longer holidays though it pays to think your journey through completely and then rethink it again and read the first part of this page.
Air Asia a Malaysian company with branches in several Asian countries specializing in short flights; and Air Asia X operating larger planes for longer flights are considered the best up and coming low cost airlines in Asia.
They save money by offering online booking service and calculating special seat bookings, baggage check-in, food, drinks, technology as chargeable add on. There is absolutely no cut on safety, quite the contrary, their main priority is safety and comes before service.
When you book online, please read all information so that you understand exactly what is included in your ticket and what you should add on (meals, baggage etc). Complaining to the cabin crew after they have run out of food will not give you a meal but pre-booking will. Read Kathy’s on how to get the best out of Air Asia part one; and here is part two
On a trip to Bali on Air Asia I or we passengers got treated to a special delight. When we were cruising at top altitude and everything was calm and organized, the purser put on a troubadour hat, took out his guitar and started a jam session. We all enjoyed his longtime favorite songs and hummed along. He got a big applause at the end; and we all remember this special Air Asia flight.
