If you are looking for the perfect beach resort Bali, here it is; Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort. Although you do not actually have a beach, you are overlooking the Indian Ocean and a quaint rock with an important Balinese temple on it Tanah Lot. The sea on this side of the island is quite rough with treacherous under currants, the sand is black anyway and there are plenty of swimming pools to choose from.
The pools are sitting on four different levels. They are intertwined with waterfalls, fishponds, islands, Jacuzzis, water slides, bars and restaurants adorned with Balinese accents. It is truly a feast for the eyes and enjoyable water experiences any which way you look at it.
The spacious rooms are absolutely superb. Lush bed and sofas adorned with plenty of cushions, elegant wood, and natural stone, modern art work and of course luxurious hotel amenities with a spectacular bathroom. The tub opens with wooden shutters to the rest of the room. There is an appliance I have not seen in a hotel in Indonesia, an iron and a board in the closet.
Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort is not just a hotel; it is a vast resort. The hotel is surrounded by an 18 hole golf course, designed by Greg Norman. He had to incorporate the many sacred temples that are connected to Tanah Lot and exist on this land for centuries. They had to stay intact and have to be accessible to the local communities for worship and ceremonies. This makes this course very unique indeed.
When we arrived at the resort, the lawn with the best sunset view over the ocean and the temple was very busy. The staff prepared a wedding ceremony with white chairs and typical Balinese white flags and next to it a buffet and reception area. The memories and pictures this couple took home must have been absolutely stunning.
When we drove through the entry gate of this enormous resort, we stopped at some pretty nice rice fields. You do not even have to travel out of the complex to take pictures of the well documented and characteristic scenery. Come and enjoy yourself in this is a luxurious Balinese and yet very international and multifaceted beach resort.
