Bali Vacation Rentals; we Chose
Affordable Suites at Astana Pengembak

Kathy and I were looking for Bali vacation rentals in Sanur. This time we wanted to get away from the beachfront hotels and look for something new. We explored several possibilities and finally chose Astana Pengembak Suite & Villa, Jl. Pengembak No 28, Sanur. It is located in a quiet, residential looking area, off Jl. Poso, the road that connects south Sanur with the Bypass.

To get to the beach and to the shops and restaurants the hotel offers bicycles for guests; it’s a halthy way to get around.

The suites are arranged in an interesting way. They are modern, spacious and welcoming. You enter into a living space with a big sofa, and writing table and a small but practical kitchen on the opposite wall. There is no partition between kitchen, living and bedroom; the spaces are defined by the wall design.

You can choose double or twin beds and we even saw two suites with connecting doors. Opposite the comfortable bed is the bathroom, accessible by a sliding door. In there you have a closet on one end, the sink with big mirror in the middle and a separate area with toilet, towel / cloth dryer and a big shower with two different shower heads, rain shower and hand held. This space gets its light and airy feeling through the milk glass door and wall. Do not look too close, some of the craftsmanship seems to be rushed.

The hotel again is quite new and sits on a very long piece of land. The suites are arranged on two stories and the middle is occupied by the pool with two wooden decks and long chairs at either end. The greenery and big trees give the property a relaxed, forest kind of feel. There is a small restaurant on the ground floor for breakfast and easy meals.

This hotel also offers villas with private swimming pool and kitchen, perfect for a very special retreat or family gathering.

An Inn with a Museum as Bali Vacation Rentals

Descendents of Ni Pollok, the muse of the famous Belgian painter Le Mayeur have constructed what is most probably one of the cheapest accommodations on prime real estate next to the beach in Sanur. It is an Inn with a few rooms, some with and some without air-conditioning. When we surveyed it, one room just vacated and was in the process of being cleaned.

We noticed a new and clean mattress; an old TV, big refrigerator, simple furniture and a good sized modern bathroom with tub and shower. The tiny lobby also serves as community room and besides that there is nothing else; except the museum dedicated to Le Mayeur and Ni Pollok next door.

In this one of a kind Bali vacation rentals you are in a great location right in front of the famous Bali Beach Hotel and golf course, and in walking distance of many excellent restaurants and hotels with all amenities, this is paradise for explorers.
