Bali Cheap hotels can be found anywhere on this island of the gods. Kathy and I stayed at 18 Suit Villa & Loft in Kuta and saw a quaint little bungalow hotel nearby. Of course, we had to investigate. The cottages are built in sandstone which is a typical building material and a traditional roof design. What I saw and felt walking around reminded me very much of how hotels in Bali used to be many, many, many years ago. Lots of typical statues, paintings and ornaments gave it the special atmosphere only found on the island of the gods.
This hotel is quaint and small, there is only a limited number of rooms available but they are big enough, clean, practical and the bathroom even features a bathtub. The interior decorating is neither modern nor exclusive but they are very adequate compared to the price. And of course the focal point of the property is a good sized swimming pool to linger and relax.
There is also a bit of a garden; this tells me again that this is not the newest kind of accommodation. (The latest hotels are very often squeezed into a small plot, incredibly cleverly arranged and rarely can show off a garden.)
We had a little chat with the man at the front desk. He told us the name of this establishment is Thirta Inn; we also saw it at the entrance. He was not able to give us a brochure or name card. When checking online and maps though, Thirta Inn is a four story hotel not far away; Thirta Inn is also the name of a hospitality chain. The whole thing with the name is very confusing and I am wondering: “How can people book and then find the place?” But the fact remains, we know it exists and it is located on Jalan Tamansari which runs off Jalan Kartika Plaza a main thoroughfare in Kuta.
The location of this one of the Bali cheap hotels is perfect, not at the main street, but pretty close to it. It is calm and quiet back there and yet you are in the center. You can walk to two Malls, many hotels and restaurants, all kinds of shops and services and even the Waterbom Bali. The yellow sand beach is located at the Discovery Mall and extends to the other center of Kuta, The famous Beach that runs also along Legian and Seminyak.
Next door you can enjoy very private, resort hotel suites with their private swimming poll.
On the other side of Jalan Kartika Plaza, next to the Mall is another style of cheap hotels and it makes quite a splash.
Do you need information on cheap flights to get here?
Nusa Dua is an area to the south that has been developed uniquely for the tourist industry.
If you like surfing, you should stay on the
other side of Kuta; there is even a surf camp there.
