Bali Bungalows, they are also Called Villas

Bali bungalows or villas as they are better known in Indonesia and Bali, are available in different forms from the very luxurious to the home stay or simple accommodation. The biggest choices of course are in the big tourist centers in the south, Sanur, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Canggu and also Ubud the artist village and some centers in the north.

Bali Bungalows in Batubulan; not Many Hotels Yet

This little village has been famous in my time already; not for the gorgeous accommodations or delicate restaurants. Batubulan since always has been and still is The center for the famous and unique Barong Dance. This one here is exactly like the one performed during temple ceremonies. It starts usually around 09.00 and lasts about one hour and is performed for tourists.

This village and especially the next one, Sukawati are centers to shop for souvenirs at good prices in their huge markets and little shops. Jewelry and woodcarving shops also line the main streets and lead up to Ubud, the artist village and main mountain resort.

Vidi Villas, Affordable Accommodation for Everyone

I was surprised when I pulled up into this little drive way; I found myself in a Balinese village and at the same time a tropical garden. I was inside a modest bungalow or villa hotel. The units are quite small but practical and even have their own private swimming pool within enclosing walls. You can rent either one bedroom or a two room bungalow. Each room also comes with a bathroom; some are indoors and some of them have an outdoor area for shower. These units also come with a little kitchen or maybe more like a pantry with a refrigerator, maybe a one cooker gas stove and a dining table or nook. These rooms also come with a breakfast cooked for you by the staff.

The beds and decoration look standard, clean and new. This hotel is definitely run according to international standards although it is far from the main tourist centers. You feel like in a Balinese compound in a lush garden setting and all around the hotel local farmers pursue their daily lives. You will without doubt hear cocks, frogs, insects and birds during different parts of the day and seasons.

When I was there they were about to build their restaurant, apparently guests would prefer to be able to order food right where they stay, instead of having to travel to the main street which is about 5 minutes away by car. And yes, along the main street there are plenty of eateries and also grocery shops. If you want to have a great choice of international and national restaurants the centers of Ubud or Sanur are not far either.

Vidi Villas, Jalan Pasekan No. 68, Batubulan, Sukawati is for you who have already been in Bali, maybe know what to expect from living away from tourist centers, in an area that is not yet fully developed for all and every whim a tourist could have. It is a rural area, quiet and relaxing; you could have some rapport with locals here if you wish to.
